VBS 2015 MT. Everest projects

This VBS I didn't have to create too many  projects like i did last year ,So it's been stress free, The VBS fun shop that My Church did in Early May helped us get alot of the decor already made for us. So all am working on at the moment is a Dummy mountain climber to hang from a rope in the Santuary. This years VBS theme is MT. EVEREST 

Im working on the Head of the climber ,went to a craft store purchased a foam head and painted a face to give the climber some character. Add a winter hat and soon will start working on the body, I will add some winter gear and hopefully it will come out just how I invisioned it in my head.

 Before i started working on the Climber ,I first worked on the VBS characters I added some foamboards to the back of the characters to make then stand on their own in the Santuary as part of the decor. I already completed 2 characters 3 more to go . Well for now that's all i have to do for VBS.

Cardboard FirePlace

This Fireplace I'm making for Christmas decoration, it will be place next to the Christmas tree. 

this Fireplace I made from scratch ,Materials are about 10 cardboard boxes ,paint, glue gun , glue stickers , elmers glue mixed with water( to make homemade mod podge ), measuring tape ,scissors, wrapping paper roll , white paper  to wrap fireplace with, butcher paper for the logs, 50 count white Christmas lights.it took about 3 days to make . I'm very happy with the outcome!

Art Table makeover

Since my Daughter loves to draw and create I had to give her art station a makeover ..

her table was pretty plain ..it was just not going to do..

so one day I decided to add some storage and a pop of color.

I added some black and purple color to her table and some cubbies for all her art supplies.

 on this side of the table I added  some clear storage bins so she can see what she has in each bin and of course I needed to add some glitter on her name!!

She loves her new style and so do I. :-)

Skylar's Work Station

Since my Girl is a big girl Now I decided to update her homework station and add a pop of color !!

I took a regular picture frame and added a chalkboard contact paper in the middle to make it a blackboard.

 here I took a mail caddy and painted black and with a silver sharpie I wrote Pen , Pencil and supplies.

 

with black oak tag paper I wrote down the workstation rules with a silver sharpie

 

 

added some pop of red

 

and there you have it Skylar's Workstation

took some ikea paper holder boxes and painted silver ,perfect to hold all her school work.

 

and then with a decorative hold puncher I designed this chart ,used silver sharpie to make the lines and gold happy faces to add for every achievements ;-)

 

 

 and a little name plate  made with the same oak tag paper and sharpie.
 all I need to work now is the workstation sign and I will be done .

my next home project will be her Art station it needs some updating ..I want to add shelves to her table so it can be easier access.

September 2014 Drawings, Owl Centerpieces, and Tree

A friend of mind wanted me to draw these three characters for her Niece, It was a bit of a challenge but I'm happy with the outcome. Than I has to create 6 Owls Centerpieces for a Baby Shower ,took me longer than I expected, but they came out great!!I loved the Owl so much I made myself one in grey with silver glitter. I also had to draw a  tree, this seems to be the latest thing fingerprint tree where you put you fingerprint next to the branch like if the fingerprint is the leave on the tree.

August 2014 - My Big girl Photo Shoot and Dress

Every year I do a photo shoot for my baby girl ,and I always try to make her a dress for the photo shoot ..this year I picked the color Blue. I'm very happy on how the dress came out and So was my beautiful girl.. check out the décor for the shoot

 

July 2014-VBS and Babyshower

The Month of July was tough alot was happening, I was working on the waterfall and finishing any other project that needed to be completed ..July was a blur. But VBS was a Success!!.
